Position Overview

The Supply Chain AM Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the Supply Chain department’s inbound and outbound daytime operations, supporting broader efforts to pick, pack and ship over $20 million of product annually.

This position plays a key role in the oversight and support of driver management, fleet management, route design/optimization, warehouse operations, 3PL distribution, and coordinating troubleshooting efforts with the customer care team. The Supply Chain AM Manager will report to the Director of Supply Chain and directly manages the Driving Team and the Warehouse Specialist. This role works closely with the Supply Chain PM Managers to ensure customer orders are safely delivered in full and on time.

This role is responsible for coordinating fleet maintenance, DOT and DMV compliance, and ensuring that the fleet is available for the nightly routes.

Bread Alone operates 24/7 and this position plays a key role in managing overnight driver performance. As a result, this position requires a flexible schedule and an ability to scale systems and SOPs that allow staff to make good decisions around the clock.

Hours: This is a Full-time position that is Tuesday-Saturday, 8am-4:30pm, but hours will vary based on the needs of the department. Evening, weekend and overnight hours may be required on a temporary basis to support the 24/7 wholesale operation. Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties, responsibilities, and essential job function include but are not limited to the following:

• Manage and schedule the Bread Alone driving team and warehouse receiving staff, with support from PM Managers and the Director of Supply Chain.
• Track, organize, and maintain the wholesale vertical’s inventory and warehouse spaces, including offsite storage, loading docks, shipping supplies and material handling equipment.
• Oversee receiving and put away processes in accordance with all food safety regulations, certifications (including Organic, Kosher and SQF), and quality programs at the company
• Track and maintain fleet compliance (DOT, DMV), including registrations, certificates, inspections, and repair documentation.
• Manage emergency and preventative maintenance issues, including organizing availability of substitute vehicles.
• Support driver safety program and continually identifies areas for safety improvement.
• Ensure that routes are mapped efficiently and driven to schedule each day. Routinely evaluate route performance and implement solutions.
• Ensure that drivers are trained on and properly use Company technology and tools, including communication platforms, DSD invoicing and stock management, telematics software, and loading dock equipment.
• Completes regularly scheduled ride-along's to gain first hand experience of DSD improvement opportunities, current customer service levels and overall route operations.
• Coordinate with 3PL partners to establish and optimize profitable supply chain solutions, including carriers and warehouses.
• Work with other departments to create a robust system to efficiently manage excess product inventory.
• Work with Customer Care team to resolve delivery issues, including coordinating troubleshooting efforts with drivers, providing customer-facing support (typically distributor relationships), and using company vehicles to deliver products when necessary.
• Apply Bread Alone coaching, evaluation and progressive discipline policies as appropriate.
• Perform additional tasks and provide coverage on a temporary or permanent basis as business needs require.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Experience driving straight trucks (26’)
• Forklift certified
• Experience with Microsoft and Google product suites
• Experience with DSD bread management a plus
• Experience with route management and tracking software a plus
• Experience with fleet management and truck maintenance a plus
• At least 3 years in management roles of increasing responsibility
• Able to stand for long periods of time while executing tasks quickly and accurately
• Able to to work in a physically demanding fast-paced environment
• Able to tolerate exposure to high levels of heat and cold
• Able to twist and bend repeatedly for long periods of time
• Able to pull, push, move and lift to waist level
• Able to carry awkward and shifting weights up to 50 pounds in a safe and controlled manner
• Able to work with, handle, operate, and control hot equipment and products in a safe manner according to Bread Alone guidelines
• Willing to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices which includes but are not limited to: Removing any visible or exposed piercings and body jewelry, personal accessories, false nails & refraining from makeup at work (ie. mascara or heavy foundation, lipstick)
• Night, weekend, and holiday availability per needs of production
• Respect for and comfort with a diverse and inclusive workplace
• Able and willing to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and assigned uniform as required per company policy
• Able to gain proficiency in operating and instructing on the proper use of all systems(physical and technological) in use in your department
• Willing to follow all safety guidelines set out by Bread Alone
• Willing to take responsibility for your own and others safety by strictly enforcing all safety rules and regulations and taking steps to mitigate any unsafe conditions or practices enlisting the help of others as needed
• The Bakery is open 365 days a year and team members must be willing to work consistently throughout the year which includes holidays and weekends
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50lbs

Job Type: Full time, exempt

Compensation: Bread Alone is deeply committed to ethically balancing the demands of the business and paying a living wage to all those who contribute to our success. Pay for this position is $62,000 to $90,000 annually.

Salary : $62,000 - $90,000
