TITLE: Program Manager
JOB PURPOSE: The Program Manager is responsible to plan, organize, implement, coordinate, and control services of the Bread of Life’s homeless program, exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority as delegated, including budget, policies, procedures, staff supervision, and training. The Program Manager operates the program in conformance with institutional regulations and guidelines from the State of Maine. The Program Manager works with program staff to facilitate their interaction with the clients, other staff, volunteers, and other significant members of our community.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
A) Be committed to the Bread of Life mission.

C) Be punctual for scheduled work and remain alert at all times, sleeping or the appearance of sleeping is strictly prohibited.
D) Work in harmonious relationships with all vendors and members of the community.
E) Perform duties in a conscientious, cooperative manner.
F) Keep work area neat/clean and maintain a professional appearance.
G) Be thoroughly knowledgeable of all Bread of Life policies and procedures.
H) To accept shared responsibility with other employees to successfully accomplish common goals.
I) To assure quality in work performed in order to facilitate the delivery of quality services.
J) Maintain confidence and protect Bread of Life by keeping information concerning clients and program operations confidential.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Oversight of the program including morning inspections, developing individual action plans and disciplinary action plans;
2) Ensure that the program facility is maintained at an optimum, inspection ready at all times;
3) Conduct background checks for potential program clients and schedule intakes;
4) Conduct initial intakes with clients upon arrival to the program;
5) Conduct individual care plans and comprehensive assessments within three working days to identify client needs and support systems;
6) Identify and document occurrences and take corrective action when required;
7) Coordination of donations, receiving, storing, and distribution of items donated and provision of donation acknowledgments;
8) Provide on going case management and support to clients;
9) Fifty percent of all scheduled working hours in a week must involve face-to-face appointments with clients;
10) All documentation regarding a client's progress should be fully written and finalized by the end of each business day of the client interaction;
11) Foster appropriate communication with all program stakeholders;
12) Provide direct supervision and support to ensure staff performance and growth through coaching, guiding, and teambuilding;
13) Demonstrate behavior and leadership in the best interests of the organization;
14) Collaborate with senior management team to provide input on grants;
15) Act as an emergency contact for after-hours emergencies, ensuring adequate staff coverage, planning for unplanned shift openings, call-outs, etc;
16) Obtain and maintain records & statistics and compile information as required:
17) Assist in coordinating services with other programs and/or agencies;
18) Assist in completing and submitting all reports and requests required to receive state and federal funding;
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS NEEDED FOR POSITION:
· Bachelors or Associates degree, industry-specific certifications, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
· Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor and train a team.
· Ability to develop, organize, and direct staff to provide quality services to clients.
· Must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
· Experience working with people with diverse backgrounds including persons with disabilities, behavioral health issues, and families with children
