At Breaking Barriers Therapy Services (BBTS), the Facility Operations team ensures a clean and safe environment across all clinic spaces. The team plays a vital role in BBTS’s mission of creating supportive spaces for children and families to thrive by upholding high standards of hygiene and organization. Through diligent cleaning practices, the team directly enhances the client experience and supports BBTS’s reputation for quality care.
What Success Looks Like (Major Functions)
- Facility Cleanliness and Maintenance
- Execute routine cleaning in assigned facility areas, including restrooms, break rooms, offices, and shared spaces.
- Perform daily tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Participate in scheduled deep-cleaning projects to ensure comprehensive cleanliness throughout the facility.
- Special projects as approved and assigned.
- Resource Management and Inventory
- Track and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, notifying the office manager when resupply is needed.
- Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are used and stored according to safety guidelines to protect staff and visitors.
- Maintain cleaning equipment, including floor cleaning machines, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition.
- Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to company and regulatory safety standards, including OSHA guidelines for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Promptly report maintenance needs or potential safety hazards to the office manager.
- Address spills, obstructions, or other hazards promptly to prevent accidents and maintain safety.
- Customer and Staff Support
- Regularly maintain restrooms, restocking items like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper to provide a comfortable experience for clients and staff.
- Act as a point of contact for facility-related cleaning emergencies, responding quickly and effectively as situations arise.
Competencies and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous janitorial or custodial experience, especially in a commercial or healthcare setting, preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: Understanding of standard cleaning techniques and equipment operation; attention to detail; ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and extended standing periods.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory duties but requires ongoing communication with the office manager to discuss cleaning tasks and supply needs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
