Senior IT Engineer - Network

Overview

The Senior IT Network Engineer I performs senior level network administration and engineering. Participates in a national group that installs, configures, troubleshoots and performs various network administration tasks.  This includes working with switches, wireless, LAN, WAN and telecommunications and unified communications devices.  Handles escalations from Tier 2 operations user support engineers.

 

This role operates in a hybrid capacity, two days from the office and three days from home. 

 

Salary and Benefit Statement:

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience.

• Salary Range: $79,000-$99,000
• This position is eligible for health care benefits, life insurance, time off benefits, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan.

Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and performs various network administration tasks.  This includes but is not limited to, WAN connectivity, LAN connectivity, wireless, unified communications, telecommunications, firewalls, MPLS and internet service.  Management and maintenance of network hardware and applications.
• Handles escalations from Tier 2 operations user support engineers for onsite issues.
• Participate with the Systems group with maintenance of the site’s server and application infrastructure.
• Participation in on-call rotation and projects that are conducted between 6pm and 8am weekdays, and any time of day on Saturdays and Sundays. This includes holidays.
• Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Network Engineer position
• 5 years of experience managing Cisco networking equipment (router and switch)
• 3 years of experience with Network Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
• 1 year of experienced with SDWAN
• Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
• Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
• Analytic and Reporting skills
• Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• CCNA or CCNP Cisco Certification

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to remain in a stationary position at times; communicate, and operate a computer and telephone

• Resolves issues which are often varied and non-routine. Undertakes analysis and investigation to solve issues.
