What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technologist-Breast position at Breast Care for Washington?
Breast Care for Washington is the only community-based, non-profit breast cancer-screening center in Washington DC area with 3D technology. We provide services to all regardless of their ability to pay.
We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic breast ultrasounds.
Must have at least 2 years of experience in small parts and/or breast with current certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Registry eligible or be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with a certification in Sonography. A high level of organizational skills, flexibility, and attention to detail is required for this position.
Primary Responsibilities/Job Functions:
· Ensures professional care of the patient while in medical imaging;
· Produces high quality sonograms and assists physician with needle biopsy procedures.
· Requires application of precise positioning and scanning techniques combined with accurate setting of technical factors as well as monitoring of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
· Constant mental attention required while performing studies and proper sterile technique
· Must demonstrate capability of maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships
· Accountable for operation of imaging equipment to make images of designated areas of the body under the supervision of radiologist
· Maintains patient confidentiality and organizational related information
· Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ARDMS or ARRT with sonography certification.
