Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding and submission of medical claims, and facilitating the collection of payments. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-9 and ICD-10, as well as proficiency in handling medical records.
Duties
- Review and verify patient information and medical records for accuracy.
- Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments received, and outstanding balances.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in medical billing or coding, with a solid understanding of medical terminology and processes. Familiarity with medical collection practices is a plus. Proficiency in using billing software systems is essential for success in this role.
