The Custodian is responsible for the basic upkeep of facilities, including, cleaning all areas inside and out, moving and using light cleaning equipment, collecting trash from grounds and building, replenishing supplies and materials, and will communicate with supervisor regarding required maintenance.Education Required:

License(s) Required: Valid LA driver's license.

1 year experience in manual labor & janitorial work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to read and write to receive work instructions
- Knowledge of cleaning materials & equipment
- Familiarity with operation & maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment
- Cleaning building – dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and stripping, waxing and polishing floors;
- Detailing restrooms and showers, trash removal
- Clean break and prep room areas to include the interior and exterior of all appliances if applicable
- Maintain, clean, and mop stairways and elevators,
- Sweeping outside sidewalks, pick-up trash around grounds;
- Clean glass fronts and doors, windowsills, etc.
- Cleaning and sanitizing recreation equipment after use;
- Setting up and breaking down classroom equipment and gyms for special events and rentals;
- Perform minor repairs; Inform supervisor of repairs needed, report the need for replacement of light bulbs, and report vandalism and other unusual occurrences
- Ensure cleaning supply inventory is maintained and provide a list to supervisor for replenishing supplies
- Clean any and all pertinent areas of the building as directed by the supervisor to maintain the professionalism of the premise
- Opening, locking, and securing all offices, departments, and exterior doors
