The Golf Course Manager 1 assists with the management of daily golf operations including managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, supervising golf staff, assisting with all merchandising functions, managing tournaments, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience.

License(s) Required: Valid LA driver's license.
Years Relevant Work Experience: 1 year in golf pro shop, on course or equivalent experience in retail, customer service, marketing, or related field or education will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of pro shop operations
- Knowledge of course maintenance
- Basic math & computer skills
- Good interpersonal/organizational skills
- Ability to plan, organize and supervise subordinate staff
- Ability to interpret and make independent policy decisions
- Ability to quickly learn BREC policies, procedures, and programs
- Ability to drive a BREC Vehicle to perform the essential duties
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other employees, department heads, BREC officials, vendors and the public.
- Supervises and manages golf operation in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Golf Course Manager.
- Provides excellent customer service, professional advice and assistance to all patrons.
- Patrols the golf course to ensure safety and pace of play.
- Controls and manages play; ensures guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the starter.
- Assists in operations of the practice facility and managing of tournaments and outings.
- Provides golf instruction and clinics that are consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures.
- Supervises, schedules and trains golf shop personnel as directed Assists in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory control, promotion and sales of merchandise.
- Remains informed on and promotes all club activities and services.
- Assists in planning and budgeting for the golf operations.
- Supervises cart staff and insures the condition of cart fleet remains in top condition.
- Performs other duties as needed upon request of immediate supervisor.
