The Electrical Tech works at various BREC facilities and recreation sites, and is responsible for maintenance, installation and repair of all electrical service on the properties. Work is largely independent, subject to periodic supervision and inspection.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Education Required: Vo-tech school diploma or associate degree. Education Preferred: Completion of recognized apprenticeship program.Area of Study Required: ElectricityLicense(s) Required: Valid LA driver's license.Years Relevant Work Experience: 3 years' experience in repair & installation of electrical wiring, heating & HVAC units, lighting, motors and pumps.Years Relevant Work Experience Preferred: 10 or more years related experience.Other Job Specifications: Thorough knowledge of electrical repair and installation practices.Working knowledge of current electrical codes and standards.Knowledge of aerial lift equipmentKnowledge of pole climbing desirableConsiderable knowledge of occupational hazards & safe operation in the tradeGood communication/interpersonal skillsMust have a positive attitude with the willingness and desire to learn new skillsSkill in the use & operation of electrical tools & machinesAbility to adjust to changing work demands, procedures, technology, and/or prioritiesAbility to climb heights up to 90' and to lift A/C unitsAbility to work independentlyAbility to read and write the English languageAbility to operate and transport mini-excavators, backhoes and other digging equipment.Ability to read and write the English language and prepare reportsAbility to establish & maintain effective working relationships with others
