The Playgroup Leader works with the BREC Beginnings program at BREC recreation sites, assisting in organization and operation of daily playground/recreation activities, overseeing and working with a group of children, assisting with related inventories and paperwork, adhering to operating and safety rules and regulations. BREC Beginnings is a recreation-based, social learning program for children ages 3-4.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent; and associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.Area of study (Major) Required: Recreation, Physical Education, Therapeutic Recreation, or Elementary Education or closely related.Two years of experience working with youth may be substituted for the college education requirement. Certification(s) Required: First Aid and CPR within 180 days of hireOther Job Specifications: Excellent research and educational skillsExcellent public relations and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and oral communication skills for public speakingAbility to train & direct staffAbility to work with children 3 – 5 years old, staff, parents, and general publicLeadership skills, including ability to inspire, confidence and enthusiasm to associates, participants, and parents.Experience in general office practices and computer skills
