We are a manufacturer of high-capacity truck, rail, floor, and bench scales for the weighing industry in Canton, Ohio.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, hardware systems, and setup of industrial weighing indicators remotely and/or via telephone support. May include performing installation and upgrades.
- Use tracking software to track and monitor the resolution of issues and/or open tickets.
- Support area processes and interface requirements
- Reset equipment or apply solutions to quickly resolve problems
- May identify and document fault patterns over a period of time and involve other engineering or other technical resources or the vendor community to develop permanent fixes
- Responsible for warranty documentation
- Assist with customers and advise about electronic based issues
- Identify and determine likely reasons for problematic causes.
- Prepares accurate documentation and communication to facilitate elimination of problems and to create efficient fixes. Escalate problems and roadblocks as they occur, first line of support for problems experienced by distributors
- Assist with information for industrial weighing indicators by investigating and asking questions to support end-user needs
- Document client problems, initiate referrals and record resolutions within department database system
- Assemble, set up and provide testing on complete scale systems
- Participate with factory training for outside dealers
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in an electronic based/technical support role
- Experience in a manufacturing/ assembly line environment
- Identify and work with basic electronics, Multimeter, soldering and other test equipment. Problem-solving technical issues
- Ability to define and resolve hardware and software issues
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Coordinating service requests with appropriate support team Following processes and recommending improvements
- Translating technical terms to non-technical users
- Experience working independently and as part of a cross-functional technical team Knowledge of equipment pieces, including printers, terminals, PCs, etc.
- Knowledge of personal computer hardware and operating systems
- IT end-user support is helpful but not necessary
- Limited travel, if necessary
