What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breck Summer Camp Lifeguard position at Breck School?
Position: Lifeguard or Swim Instructor
General Responsibility
The primary role of the Lifeguard and Swim Instructors is to supervise all activities, lessons, or events held at the pool. Breck Summer Programs has an indoor swimming pool on site.
Minimum Qualifications

Current lifeguarding certification (by the start of camp) *Breck Summer Programs will pay for certification if needed

Current water safety instructors certification (preferred and by the start of camp)

Current CPR and first aid certifications (by the start of camp)

Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a busy camp setting

Ability to accept guidance and supervision

Help supervise locker room during camper arrival and dismissal from swimming time.
Specific Responsibilities

Be in attendance all day (as assigned) and every day that camp is in session

During staff training, work with the Breck Summer Programs Director to set up the pool area and teach counselors their responsibilities at the pool

Assist in the closing of pool and storage of pool equipment at the end of the season

Maintain good public relations with campers parents and club members

Attend pre-season staff training, including in-pool sessions

Periodically assist with lunch and carline duties
