B.G. Brecke, Inc. is seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Helper to join our dedicated team. The Shop Helper will be instrumental in assisting with a variety of tasks in the shop, including organizing and maintaining equipment, preparing materials, and supporting the team in the field. A key part of this role will involve backing up trailers and delivering parts and materials to job sites, ensuring that our projects run smoothly and efficiently. The Shop Helper must be able to adapt quickly and have a proactive approach to our customers’ rapidly changing needs.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety protocols and operate machinery and tools safely and appropriately.
- Perform vehicle and facility maintenance, along with landscaping tasks.
- Execute manual labor tasks, such as loading and unloading equipment, tools, and materials.
- Perform work on various surfaces, including solid and uneven ground, loose gravel, and mud.
- Carry out custodial duties and general clean-up.
- Operate power equipment, including forklifts and company vehicles.
- Operate material handling equipment including dollies, carts, and floor pallet jacks.
- Safely hook and unhook enclosed and flatbed trailers to company vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure the safety of all personnel on the job site.
- Provide after-hours and weekend on-call support as needed.
Requirements
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to self-motivate.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to interruptions in a fast-paced environment, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Ability to comply with all safety regulations including organizational, governmental, and collective bargaining contracts.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
