The Supply Planning Senior Associate will work closely with the Supply Planning Senior Manager and report to the Supply Planning Senior Manager to manage product inventory, purchase orders and delivery schedules with contract manufacturers and suppliers. This person will support the Supply Chain team in all day-to-day activities in achieving KPIs and financial targets. Must be able to foster and maintain strong working relationship with suppliers and 3PL. This position will be the liaison between suppliers and 3PL and must have the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. The successful candidate will have business acumen, operations background, possess strong communication skills, and the ability to work well with cross-functional departments.
Responsibilities:
- Act as supply chain support for issues through the commercial lifecycle of products. Particularly from the point of Supply Plan (CMO Purchase Plan) creation to Purchase Order (PO) release to the CMO through to disposition (sale or disposal).
- Ensure activities occur as planned, and execute actions for deviations, which is not limited to escalation.
- Evaluate and escalate causes of KPI variation to the supply chain management team.
- Review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) exceptions, act accordingly, and proactively communicate exceptions with appropriate personnel within and outside the Supply Chain department.
- Maintain and update all applicable dates for Purchase Orders within SAP5 for assigned product families.
- Initiate the appropriate change process for all applicable master data changes related to cGMP data.
- Audit master data according to a commercial product cycle.
- Monitor inventory levels for all categories of material (e.g. quarantined, short dated) and take appropriate action as required with the objective of achieving inventory targets with sufficient expiry dating in order to meet customer service requirements.
- Ensure timely disposal of rejected, expired, or otherwise obsolete product.
- Develop, track, analyze and improve various processes relating to supply chain. Do this in order to ensure or improve availability, delivery, and reliability, quality, and quantity compliances.
- Liaise, interact, work with internal and external colleagues to reduce supply chain costs and improve service levels through forecasting and replenishment practices.
- Lead special projects for continuous improvement within the Supply Chain department, and development of best practices.
- Support creation of create advanced shipping notices (ASN) and forward to 3PL to insure timely receipts of incoming products and advise when product is being delivered under quarantine.
- Oversee movement of products in transit from CMO’s to assure seamless deliveries to 3PL and work with Quality and Regulatory to receive proper CofA approvals in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate freight-in with CMO’s and suppliers for BPI freight responsible products.
- Lead process to compare and receive product into the system for inventory on a daily basis and maintain and provide all back-up of Purchasing/Logistics documentation electronically to Accounts Payable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
- 3-5 years of operations pharmaceutical experience with knowledge of supply chain: forecasting, inventory control, order scheduling, and customer service.
- Proficient in MS Office, experience in MS Excel and analytical reporting.
- Enterprise resource planning (ERP) experience is a plus but not required.
- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills.
