What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ward Clerk / Laundry Attendee position at Breckinridge Health Inc?
Responsibilities:
- Receives, greets, and directs visitors, residents, and other hospital personnel arriving on or calling to the nurse’s station.
- Records and delivers messages for residents and staff.
- Maintains an adequate quantity of forms, materials, supplies, and equipment necessary on the unit.
- Maintains resident chart in appropriate functional order according to the Nursing Facility policy and procedure. Monitors location of charts at all times and prepares chart for transfer to Medical Records when resident is discharged, transferred, or in event of resident death.
- Keeps current on activities of the hospital and nursing facility through attendance of shift and staff meetings, in-service programs, and other activities as indicated.
- Maintains communication sources such as CNA worksheets, nursing communication board, FTE postings, 24-hour reports, etc.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and functional working environment at the nurse’s station.
- Initiates, assembles, and maintains charts for all residents.
- Transcribes physician orders, completes all necessary forms, requisitions, and communications (including computer) necessary to implement orders.
- Files labs and radiology reports and other information after it has been reviewed by the nurse.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationship with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and physicians.
- Finds staffing coverage in the event of a call in and communicates staffing concerns to the nurse and the DON.
- Receives dirty personal Residents laundry from personal hampers.
- Washes, dries and folds Residents personal Laundry.
- Delivers clean laundry and puts away items in Residents room (closet or dresser).
- Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies to perform task with updated MDS for each supply.
- Orders supplies for Laundry room and keeps area neat and clean.
- Maintains a log for each resident on Laundry needs to include allergies.
- Follows and keeps current on CMS guidelines for (LAUNDRY AND INFECTION CONTROL)
- Maintains a safe, clean, and functional working environment.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationship with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and physicians.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
