A Community Development District (CDD) is a governmental unit created to serve the long-term specific needs of its community. Created according to Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes, a CDD’s leading powers are to plan, finance, construct, operate and maintain community-wide infrastructure and services specifically for the benefit of its residents.
District Manager responsibilities will include:
Ø Conducting (10) ten (2) hour District meetings in Pasco, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Brevard counties on a minimum of a monthly to quarterly basis. Must be able to commute to these meetings. Meetings are held in the evenings or early mornings.
Ø Implement actions approved by the Board that lead to the efficient overall management of the District and prudent financial decisions.
Ø Provide approval for agenda packages publicly presented to the Board.
Ø Ensure compliance with all Florida Statutes affecting the District.
Ø Communicate with residents and Board members as needed
Ø Assist in the financial budget development of the District.
Ø Assist in agenda packages for transmittal to Board of Supervisors and staff seven days before Board of Supervisors’ Meeting.
Ø Provide minutes for all Board of Supervisors’ Meetings.
Ø Ensure compliance with all administrative statutes affecting the District
Skills Needed:
Ø As multiple districts with various municipalities will be managed the District Manager will need to be able to multitask and be highly organized.
Ø Strong communication skills in order to have the ability to communicate to the management team, Board of supervisors, vendors, etc.
Ø Advanced Microsoft word skills
Ø Working knowledge of Florida Statute Chapter 190 and Sunshine Law
Must have 2 – 3 years of experience in the related field or similar role or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
