What are the responsibilities and job description for the AutoCAD Drafter Construction position at Brekhus Tile & Stone?
THE IMPORTANT WORK YOU WILL BE DOING
The Drafter coordinates the collection of data and incorporate such information into shop drawings for Tile, Stone installations & fabrication. They will consult with Project Mangers, Estimators, Scheduler, and Field department to prepare and present shop drawings.

To ensure success as a design drafter, you should be able to use design principles to create technical drawings that bring the client's ideas to life. Ultimately, a top-notch design drafter should have excellent knowledge of CAD software, and the ability to conceptualize design with meticulous attention to detail. Organization to meet deadlines, to research and provide accurate project information, and to assure all paperwork is up to date is a high priority. Adhering to the company’s policies and procedures is of most importance to you.
Responsibilities:
- Collecting structural materials required for designs
- Calculating dimensions, weight limitations, and measurements for designs
- Drafting designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Creating diagrams and layouts to illustrate the workflow of designs
- Collaborating with the design team to review drawings and designs
- Adjust drawings according to feedback from Project Mangers/Estimators, Scheduler, and Field department
- Ensuring designs comply with company regulations and quality standards
- Setting up drawing formats and configuration files
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years of AutoCAD education
- Full-Time/In-Office
- College degree preferred but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to read architectural construction drawings
- Must be able to multi-task
- Ability to read drawings in Bluebeam or Adobe
- Basic knowledge of Revit or solid works a plus but not required
- Possess organizational skills and attention to detail
- Possess positive attitude of cooperation and collaboration with clients and team members.
- Willingness to adapt to and accept constructive feedback from management; implement necessary corrections in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, expert business writing, verbal and listening skills
Your Working Environment
Working environment will include office and may include travel to job sites.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The duties of this job performed in both an office environment and at job sites, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office and machine equipment. May require extended hours to meet customer's needs. This position requires traveling between jobsites and Brekhus when needed. Brekhus requires all employees who drive their personnel or a company vehicle in the routine performance of their jobs to have a valid Driver’s License. They must also provide proof of valid insurance.
