THE SIGNIFICANT WORK YOU WILL UNDERTAKE
The Tile Installer’s primary responsibility will be the installation of custom tile in residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities (specific job duties)
- Accurately measure, mark, clean, and level surfaces designated for tiling, adhering strictly to project plans, blueprints, or numbered sequences.
- Proficiently remove old flooring and adhesive when necessary.
- Expertly mix thin set, mortar, adhesive, and grout.
- Precisely apply adhesives to create a base for the tiles using a brush, trowel, and/or screed; affix lath, waterproof paper, or apply cement mortar coat onto a metal screen.
- Apply grouting, caulk, sealants, or other substances to installed surfaces, ensuring proper grouting between joints.
- Skillfully cut and shape tile or stone to specified dimensions for installation, utilizing power saws or tile cutters.
- Handle and position materials as required by the project specifications.
- Seek clarification on work orders from the Superintendent and effectively communicate daily progress to the Field Superintendent, maintaining continuous communication as needed for scheduling purposes.
- Accurately complete timecards and attend meetings and training sessions as directed by senior management.
- Conduct oneself professionally with colleagues, management, clients, and subcontractors.
- Adhere to all tools and machinery maintenance protocols as per company policy.
- Transport materials, tools, and machinery to installation sites as required.
- Erect scaffolding or other installation structures when necessary.
- Comply with the company's policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, Company Safety and Health regulations, OSHA guidelines, and all other relevant federal and state regulations.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements (qualifications)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tile installation (ceramic, marble, granite, etc.), work layout, repair and patching of tiles, preparation of sub-surfaces, surface sealing, waterproofing, caulking, and grouting.
- Thorough understanding of materials, techniques, and tools involved in tile, stone, and granite installation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, perform mathematical calculations, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Effective and courteous communication with customers and colleagues.
- Capability to engage in physical activities essential to the role, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, carrying, and lifting weights ranging from 50-100lbs.
- Detail-oriented, task-focused, reliable, and professional.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position will be based at Denver International Airport.
- Applicants must possess valid work authorization that does not necessitate visa sponsorship for employment in the U.S.
- Successful completion of a drug screening and FBI background check is mandatory.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
