We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as Deputy Sheriffs at the Bremer County Sheriff's Office.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and enforcing all laws and ordinances within Bremer County. This role requires excellent communication skills, physical fitness, and the ability to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain law and order by patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency calls, and investigating crimes.
- Enforce all laws and ordinances, including traffic laws and regulations.
- Protect life and property by conducting surveillance, making arrests, and testifying in court.
- Participate in community policing initiatives to build relationships with local residents and businesses.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share intelligence and best practices.
Requirements:
- Candidates must meet the minimum hiring standards set by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Pass a background check and medical examination.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range: non-certified $67,232, certified $70,289-$85,566. Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
