Responsible for providing coordinated behavioral interventions, coaching, and supporting students in need of behavioral support to access the instructional program. Establish and implement district-wide behavioral interventions, social and emotional support, training, and monitor their effectiveness.To Be Determined
Develop collaborative relationships within the school system and community stakeholders.
Provide district-wide training in Classroom management, positive behavioral training, and other training based on campus-specific needs.
Collaboration
1. Collaborate with campus Principals regarding implementation of behavioral services and supports, such as, classroom behavioral management, targeted behavioral intervention strategies, social skills curriculum, restorative practices, and material to meet the needs of students with at-risk behaviors and/or behavioral needs.
2. Develop collaborative and/or consultative relationships with school administrators, behavioral specialists, general and special education service providers, and other BISD staff.
3. Collaborate with other special education department supervisory staff to ensure the provision of free, appropriate public education.
Training
1. Plan, organize, and conduct professional learning for school-based staff and other related service providers, including transportation, food service, contract professionals, and families as appropriate.
2. Manage the work and assignment of behavioral specialists as appropriate, including providing professional development.
3. Provide supervision and direction to staff on various methods of data collection, subsequent analysis and interpretation of data to develop appropriate behavioral interventions.
Students
1. Manage and monitor students placed at the DAEP for repeat occurrences and implement intervention practices specifically for these students.
2. Maintain knowledge of research-related, effective behavioral interventions and strategies that support students at risk and students who have social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs.
3. Maintain appropriate data including placement and number of students served, needs of students and staff, parent involvement, etc.
4. Monitor the implementation of behavioral intervention and support programs to ensure consistency, articulation, and compliance among schools, including state and federal laws and regulations.
