Our Client has an exciting opportunity for a Tooling Design Engineer at their Washington, PA manufacturing plant.
What You’ll Do
As a Tooling Design Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining tooling used in our manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will supervise and develop our Tool and Die Department .
This key engineering role will drive quality, continuous improvement, and lean implementation , helping to enhance efficiency and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and department leaders to implement strategies that improve :
- Employee safety
- Quality performance
- Product delivery
- Reduction in product / process variation
Key Responsibilities :
Design & develop stamping tooling , including strip layouts, simulations, die construction, and press specificationsDevelop & construct progressive dies and tools for steel outlet box productionImplement maintenance & repair programs to ensure optimal tooling performance and longevityInspect completed parts to ensure compliance with die specifications and manufacturing standardsIdentify & resolve problems to minimize downtime and maintain workflow efficiencyWork closely with engineering & Master Die Makers to improve die designs and enhance production efficiencyMaintain accurate records of die maintenance, repairs, and modificationsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and die performanceTrack and report tooling program progress from sourcing to production readinessRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institutionMinimum of two (2) years experience designing complex, progressive stamping diesMust be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship (now or in the future)No relocation benefits —only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Washington, PA will be consideredActive-duty military members are exempt from geographical limitationsPreferred Qualifications :
Experience with lean manufacturing tools / elements (VSM, 5S, Std Work, Set-Up Reduction, etc.)Familiarity with Servo Press operationsUnderstanding of die sensors, vision inspection, and related technologiesKnowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and experience in auditsAbility to troubleshoot stamping operationsUnderstanding of ANSI / ISO drawing standards and GD&T dimensioningKnowledge of Wire EDM and / or CNC machining technologiesExpertise in tool steels and their applicationsCompensation
The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,000 - $118,000 annually.
