Shift: Monday - Friday 6AM- 3:30PM, Friday 6AM - 12 PM
Position Overview:
A Deburrer is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and other imperfections from metal components to ensure a smooth and finished surface. This role is crucial in quality control, ensuring that manufactured parts meet precise specifications and are safe for use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deburring and Finishing:
- Use tools such as dremels, files, grinders, sandpaper, deburring knives, or pneumatic tools to remove excess material, burrs, and sharp edges.
- Smooth surfaces and refine parts to meet specified tolerances and finish quality.
- Inspection:
- Examine parts visually with a magnifier or with measurement tools (gages) to identify burrs, imperfections, and inconsistencies.
- Tool Maintenance:
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in the deburring process.
- Report damaged or worn-out tools to supervisors for repair or replacement.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with tools and machinery.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with machinists, quality control teams, and supervisors to resolve issues related to part quality.
- Provide feedback on design or manufacturing improvements that could reduce burr formation.
- Record-Keeping:
- Document work completed and track parts processed.
- Communicate progress and any challenges encountered during the deburring process.
Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, machining, or similar roles preferred.
- Proficiency with deburring tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with measurement tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Perform repetitive motions, including gripping and filing.
- Lift and handle materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
