Position Overview
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory to ensure the efficient and accurate tracking of all inventory-related activities. This role includes monitoring stock levels, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing procedures to optimize inventory control. The Inventory Control Specialist plays a key role in maintaining the balance between stock availability and minimizing excess inventory, contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain precise inventory records and update data as needed.
- Utilize computer systems and digital tools effectively.
- Monitor stock levels and conduct regular inventory checks and audits.
- Perform cycle counting to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying and addressing underlying issues.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate order processing and inventory management.
- Manage the receipt of materials and oversee quality checks.
- Address defective goods by coordinating returns and processing supplier credits.
- Assist with shipping products to customers and support other inventory-related tasks as needed.
- Previous experience with an ERP software
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
