JOB FUNCTION: The Shipping Lead will oversee and coordinate the shipping operations within the manufacturing plant to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of products.
JOB DUTIES:
- Supervise the daily operations of the shipping department, ensuring all shipments meet quality and scheduling standards.
- Assign tasks to shipping staff and monitor performance, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading and packing lists.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of shipments.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections of shipping areas to ensure organization and efficiency.
- Any other projects or assignments as directed.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a shipping or warehouse leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
