What are the responsibilities and job description for the Smoke Shop Clerk position at Brennans Smoke Shop?
We are looking for a Retail Clerk to provide excellent customer service in our first NH location. With 9 stores located on the south shore of Boston we have an established brand and clientele, however this location in Hudson is far from the core of the company and as such you will be working independently for the most part. The position is full time, with a consistent schedule, unlikely to change very often, additional days may be offered to cover various events.
Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and recommend solutions.
You must have transportation and a proven record of reliability. We are hoping for someone available to start by the end of February.
A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role.
Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied.
Responsibilities
- Greet and direct customers
- Check identification to screen customers at this age restricted store
- Understand and comply AT ALL TIMES with local and federal regulations surrounding the sale of tobacco products and accessories.
- Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services) Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
- Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing Cross-sell products
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked
- Manage returns of merchandise Inform customers about discounts and special offers
- Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services Skills
- Receive new inventory and ship products to other stores, careful and consistent inventory tracking is a must and policies and processes must be strictly adhered to.
- Work experience in Retail Sales as a Sales Associate or similar role is desirable but not required
- Understanding of the retail sales process, Basic math skills, Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
A basic knowledge of smoking culture, vape products and technology, and cigars would be beneficial, but is not required.
After training the schedule will be 38 hours / week on a set schedule that will remain the same week to week. Their may be additional shifts available to cover sick days or vacation days and special events. We are a small shop, you will be working directly with the store manager as a two person team.
