What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Technician position at Brenntag Lubricants, LLC?
DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Repair, recondition and install lubrication equipment at customer sites and internally when required.
- Required to use ladders and other equipment to repair or replace internal and external equipment.
- Reads and interprets directions from the Equipment Manager and determines the best course of action.
- Utilize and maintain equipment work order program.
- Maintain and track equipment inventory.
- Work closely with customers, sales representatives and internal employees to solve equipment related issues.
- Ensure workspace is clean and orderly complying with safety regulations.
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot bulk monitoring hardware.
- Operate service vehicle safely and in accordance with traffic laws.
- Listens to customer complaints and inform the appropriate department of the complaint.
- Provide reports and job costing for equipment repairs and installations when appropriate.
- Wears the proper safety gear.
- Work with local contractors or other internal technicians to complete installations and repairs.
- Contact customers to troubleshoot equipment related issues.
- Required to punch in and out for schedule and work in agreement with the employee handbook.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or 3-4 years of related experience.
- Must have proven pleasant personality and professional demeanor when interacting with both external and internal customers.
- Must possess basic mathematical and computation skills; Must be able to operate a calculator.
- Must possess the ability to work with various personalities and maintain good relations.
- Working knowledge of computer systems required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to operate a scissor lift, pallet jack, dolly truck and hand truck.
- Required to use various hand tools, ladders and cell phone.
- Must wear company provided uniform and protective gear when appropriate.
- Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.
- Ability to function independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Employee is responsible for providing most tools required to complete tasks
