YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs and coordinates activities of the Acids Department in processing acid or manufacturing products, applying knowledge of production methods, processes, plant layout, and equipment production capabilities of each department.
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data, such as types, quantities and specifications of products, and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilizing knowledge of production process and methods, equipment capabilities, and labor requirements.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes subordinates to ensure compliance with standards.
- Initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures. Ensures proper training has been conducted for subordinates.
- Overall responsibility for area housekeeping.
- Responsible for training of all employees in operating procedures.
- Responsibility and authority for requisition and approval of chemicals to meet customer requirements and inventory needs
- Responsible for stock assessment of Acid area.
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
- A good safety and attendance record.
- Thorough understanding of the importance of customer service and the ability to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel in meeting customer needs.
- Knowledge of fork lift operation, with certification.
- Skills associated with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of D. O. T. regulations.
- Good math, bookkeeping, and organization skills.
- Computer skills sufficient to efficiently perform the job requirements.
- Ability to understand and comply with all company policies and procedures pertinent to the ACID Department.
- Ability to understand and comply with the responsibilities of the job as outlined in the Job description.
- Ability to understand and carry out process descriptions applicable to the job.
- Willingness to accept overtime (both scheduled and impromptu), to be subject to and available for call-in, and to work other shifts as needed to meet customer needs.
