What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at Brenntag Mid-South, Inc.?
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels utilizing planning reports, forecasts, sales history.
- Follow and complete the purchase transaction from shipment, documentation, and arrival of item
- Address slow moving inventory through constant communication with sales representatives and through negotiation with vendors to process return to vendors (RTV).
- Submit forecasts to Materials Management as needed.
- Notify and keep all internal staff apprised of inventory.
- Respond to inquiries involving order placement, product availability, lead times, MOQ, and rush requests.
- Track and expedite shipments.
- Resolve purchase order discrepancies.
- Monitor expired material and work with vendors to get them recertified.
- Process inventory adjustments, RTVs and file claims with vendors for damaged products.
- Communicate effectively and partners closely with salespeople, operations, customer service, customers, and executive leadership.
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred
- Exceptional computer skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- 3 years inventory management
- Analytical mind with strong math skills.
- Outstanding organizational and planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
