Brenntag TA Team
- Dispatch trucks in the most efficient manner to assure customer service requirements are met within confines of safety and regulations.
- Be knowledgeable and oversee compliance with all DOT regulations.
- Able to prioritize driver schedules and load demands to meet customer and fleet demands.
- Monitoring driver progress throughout the day, processing orders, and managing driver concerns.
- Responsible for TMS systems maintenance and daily review including fuel reporting and logs.
- Liaison between customer service, sales and drivers.
- Assure that all carriers used will meet specific requirements as requested by the customers of Brenntag Southwest, Inc.
- Review third party carrier invoices on a regular basis and make updates/maintain the carrier rates within the specified systems.
- Report all non-conformances as soon as they occur using proper forms.
- Assure all shipments routed are shipped only on approved carriers.
- Understand and document specific vendor transport requirements.
- Follow up on all carrier/supplier non-conformances related to transportation.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer, supplier, and intercompany information.
- Complete trainings as required.
- Perform and complete any other tasks as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor or management.
Education and Experience:
- Ability to multi-task – Manages multiple tasks at one time while meeting time sensitive deadlines; quickly and accurately shifts attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy or appearance of frustration.
- Teamwork Skills- Ability to collaborate and coordinate transportation demands with other departments including operations, customer service, sales, and purchasing. Exhibits dedication to their department and willingness to help other team members as needed.
- Problem solving skills – Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Decisive in handling difficult problems. Translates problems into practical solutions and is capable of understanding relationships and dependencies within different metrics and behaviors.
- Communication skills – Reads, writes and speaks fluent English, using appropriate grammar, style and vocabulary. Correctly spells commonly used English words and job specific terms. Demonstrates exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational ability – Demonstrates a systematic approach in carrying out assignments. Is very orderly and excels at cutting through confusion and turning chaos into order.
- Customer service skills – Consistently ensures internal and external customers are provided with attentive, courteous, and informative service. Gains and shows personal satisfaction from delivering great service.
- Intellectual ability – Accurately and consistently follows instructions delivered in an oral, written or diagram format. Ability to learn on the fly.
- Computer skills – Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and specialized software including but not limited to TMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, AS400 or similar ERP system. Capable of quickly researching, extracting data and presenting insightful and actionable information to leadership. This position has a heavy focus within the Transportation Management System. Ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of TMS.
