Web Development Manager develops new digital platforms and maintains functionality of existing platforms. This position is responsible for information design, web database administration, programming, and troubleshooting of digital platforms while contributing to the exploration of new technologies and effective digital communication. Position will provide key input on web design and may act as the lead web designer in some situations.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
- Work with ministry areas to fulfill web-related requests
- Maintains web content on all Brentwood Baptist owned digital properties
- Develop and implement key user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) features for existing sites
- Serve as manager of off-campus web servers
- Assist in the design of digital platforms and applications including UI and UX features. May act as lead designer in some situations.
- Serve as key liaison between outside development contractors and the Communications Team
- Provide regular analytics to Digital Strategy Director as needed to inform key decisions
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as key input regarding choices of digital technologies (i.e. video hosting, web hosting, forms generator, mass email systems, analytics and mobile development platforms)
- Provide training/support of digital platforms for admin assistants as needed
- Serve as a key liaison between individual ministries and communications ministry for Ministry Platform technology-related questions
- Work with Marketing Director, Digital Strategy Director, and Communications Director in determining digital software to use and system integration for communications requests and project management
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proficient in HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL and intermediate in Javascript and jQuery
- Ability to implement WordPress installations and create WordPress templates

- Comfortable learning and implementing external APIs

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Computer Science, Design and/or related field.
- Applicant should have working knowledge of relevant technologies and have at least 2 years’ experience in web development, implementation and management.
