What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Volleyball Referee position at Brentwood Parks & Recreation?
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver a safe and excellent customer service experience to our residents and program participants.
- Enforce and adhere to existing policies and procedures, suggesting changes in current practices when necessary.
- Examine the condition of the courts for safety and make any needed adjustments. Notify the Recreation Specialist/Program Coordinator of any concerns with conditions.
- Maintain control of the matches and individual players.
- Communicate effectively with the Site Supervisor and the Recreation Specialist/Program Coordinator.
- Attend any referee meeting or clinics as required by Supervisor.
- Responsible to ensure all game results are recorded with the Site Supervisor.
- Record time and sign timesheet upon completion of games.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Good knowledge of department rules and procedures.
- Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with precedents and polices.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Must have a well-rounded knowledge of sport specific rules.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Comprehensive and working knowledge of USA Volleyball and Brentwood Parks and Recreation volleyball rules.
- At least one year prior referee experience desirable.
