Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems. This role will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. You will work closely with various departments to ensure the hotel operates smoothly, addressing any maintenance needs quickly and effectively to guarantee an excellent experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and hotel systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, elevators, etc.).
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to ensure everything is functioning properly and identify any maintenance issues.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and resolve problems quickly to minimize guest inconvenience.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced, and functioning properly, including any appliances, laundry machines, and HVAC units.
- Develop and execute a preventive maintenance schedule to avoid breakdowns and prolong the life of hotel systems.
- Comply with all local safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping and front desk, to address maintenance needs and ensure smooth operations.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors for specialized repairs and services.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and equipment to ensure timely repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in building maintenance or a similar engineering role (hotel experience a plus).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively.
- Familiarity with safety codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
