The Director of Strategic Supply is a key leadership position owning the Supply Planning and Supply Management process, improving supply management, driving customer satisfaction, profitability, and inventory turns. This is a complex, highly collaborative role which lays out the future of the business numerically (in quantities and dollars) and includes assumptions, risks, opportunities and recognition of gaps. Director of Strategic Supply

Essential Responsibilities
- Recognize and manage customer supply for all products over the 0-24 month time horizon (may vary).
- Plan for anticipated supply to the company for Integrated Business Planning and Production Scheduling.
- Build consensus around the Supply Plan via the Supply portion of the Integrated Business Planning process, closing gaps as appropriate
- Aid the sales organization facilitating sales planning through the process of Integrated Business Planning
- Provide product mix forecasts to the production scheduling.
- Provide plans for anticipated supply for new products and/or new markets, working with product and marketing managers as appropriate.
- Establish, maintain, and utilize planning and communications ‘tools’ for accomplishing the above.
- Assist in the development of marketing/manufacturing strategies, policies, and objectives. Objectives include Integrated Business Planning policy, customer service objectives, inventory governance, backlog/lead time objective, and planning time fences.
- Assist in the development of supply plans relating to Capacity, Capital and Resourcing.
- Assist with planning bills and product structures.
- Monitor the company’s performance to plan providing detailed input to sales and marketing management for use at the Integrated Business Planning meetings. Provide and communicate measurements of actual vs. planned performance, monitor compliance to policy and report occurrences of deviation to policy with corresponding mitigation plans.
- Provide necessary training to internal personnel in all aspects of MRP supply management, Master Scheduling, planning, order entry, etc. Will also provide communication/awareness sessions plus training to external persons (customers) in supply management concepts and practices.
- Will act as the “technical expert” in matters concerning the use of the computer system for order entry, supply management, demand planning / forecasting and EDI interfacing.
- Lead cross-functional teams to optimize demand-supply constraints.
- Responsible for capacity modeling processes.
- Establish governance regarding adjustments to demand plans (forecasts) and order backlogs, and any assumptions that revise capacities.
- Develop support metrics, tools and reporting that will enable manufacturing sites, procurement teams and product teams to achieve service level and inventory targets.
- Identify significant business risks to capacities and supply chains.
- Ensure efficient communication across teams engaged in the SIOP / IBP process.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain
- 5 years of industry and management experience leading a technical team, managing budgets and strategic planning.
- Extensive experience in supply planning, demand planning, inventory management, statistical methods/modeling and financial modeling.
- Experience with ERP systems, supply chain analytics and automation tools.
- Experience negotiating contracts, evaluating suppliers and ensuring compliance.
- Ability to proactively identify and mitigate supply chain disruptions
- APICS certification
