The Facilities Maintenance Technician has responsibility to support the Maintenance Manager by overseeing building operations, building equipment, and day-to-day facility needs. This includes ensuring the facilities are in good condition and support the daily needs of our employees through managing third party providers (groundkeepers, janitorial, etc.) and overseeing maintenance, and construction projects. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Facilities Maintenance Technician
The Facilities Maintenance Technician has responsibility to support the Maintenance Manager by overseeing building operations, building equipment, and day-to-day facility needs. This includes ensuring the facilities are in good condition and support the daily needs of our employees through managing third party providers (groundkeepers, janitorial, etc.) and overseeing maintenance, and construction projects. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of the entire facility to determine if housekeeping/building repairs are needed
- Perform routine maintenance throughout the facility and oversees other contract maintenance work as required
- Assist with ensuring the buildings meet health and safety requirements
- Participate in the selection of contract services and vendor negotiation of service agreements
- Oversee building/grounds work and renovations
- Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures
- Perform minor routine electrical and mechanical maintenance and coordinate contract maintenance as necessary
- May oversee contractors engaged for facility renovation projects
- Check completed work by contractors and vendors
- Provide prompt response to requests and issues from facility occupants
- Ensure work orders are tracked
- Maintain the fleet of company vehicles
- Oversee the proper function of the key plant infrastructure such as: chillers, HVAC systems, Air Compressors, etc.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on key plant infrastructure such as: chillers, HVAC systems, Air Compressors, etc. (changing filters, cleaning coils, strainers, etc
- Two years minimum related experience and/or training in electrical, controls and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Technically competent with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions on short notice when required. Willingness to report essential information and seek additional guidance from leadership.
- Interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to troubleshoot and repair general electrical, control and mechanical issues on all plant equipment.
