GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Maintain clean environment for residents and staff. Perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, halls, offices, and other assigned areas. Follow policies and procedures of department with regard to duties. Reports to department supervisor.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Cleans resident rooms and other assigned areas.
- Performs daily tasks in accordance with infection control and universal precaution policies and procedures.
- Respects confidentiality and resident's rights.
- Respects dress code according to department policies.
- Respects and shows kindness to all residents.
- Assures that floors are free of hazardous debris.
- Practices good body mechanics in regards to lifting.
- Protects and maintains all work areas in accordance with facility safety policies.
- Perform tasks such as wash over-the-bed lights, pictures and objects on walls, wall washing, baseboards, etc. as assigned.
- Sorts soiled laundry according to facility policy and procedures.
- Loads and unloads washers and dryers.
- Sorts, folds, stack clean linen.
- Washes, dries, sorts and delivers residents personal laundry.
- Possesses knowledge of equipment and procedures for washing linens of various degrees of soil.
- Understands the functions of various soaps, bleaches, softeners, and other chemicals used in washing and rinsing.
- Distinguishes between cotton and synthetic fibers.
- Performs daily tasks in accordance with infection control and universal precaution policies and procedures.
- Respects confidentiality and resident's rights.
- Respects and shows kindness to residents.
- Assures that floors are free of hazardous debris
- Practices good body mechanics in regards to lifting.
- Protects and maintains work areas in accordance with facility safety policies.
- Follows dress code according to department policy.
- Maintains work area in clean and orderly manner.
