Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking an experienced RNAC (Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator) and Infection Control RN. The RNAC and Infection Control RN will provide services in our 20-bed Short Term Rehabilitation Center and 120-bed Skilled Nursing Facility.

The RNAC & Infection Control RN serves as Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator, primarily for our 20-bed Short Term Rehabilitation Center. The RNAC & Infection Control RN also maintains the infection control program for all Skilled Care areas (the Short Term Rehab. Center and the Skilled Nursing Facility), working with nursing staff to promote a safe and hygienic environment for Residents, Team Members, and visitors.
The RNAC & Infection Control RN is responsible for:
- coordinating the assessment and documentation of data critical to care planning and reimbursement for care for Residents / patients, primarily in the 20-bed Short Term Rehabilitation Center;
- working closely and collaboratively with nursing and other Skilled Care staff, and the Finance and Accounting departments to ensure accurate data is obtained and utilized appropriately;
- assisting to train, mentor, and oversee the work of LPN Assessment Coordinators;
- proactively developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating infection control policies, protocols, and programs for Skilled Care areas;
- educating Team Members with respect to proper infection control methods, and monitoring adherence to infection control protocols;
- leading the Brethren Village Infection Control Committee, and routinely participating in Quality Improvement Committee meetings.
The RNAC and Infection Control RN will perform all duties in strict adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations and guidance, including Department of Health, CMS, OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA, and with the highest degree of integrity consistent with Brethren Village’s values.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, benefits eligible: dayshift, 40 hours per week on-site, plus additional hours as needed to fulfill responsibilities.
- Valid PA RN license
- Current RAC-CT certification, or currently working towards certification
- At least 3 years of prior work experience as an RN, in an acute care or long-term care setting or in a rehabilitation facility
- Prior experience as a LPNAC or RNAC
- Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare reimbursement; RAI process and MDS 30; third party payor regulations; case mix index; utilization management review; quality measures; care planning, and ICD 10 codes
- Knowledge of reimbursement sources and methods required for submission of data
- Prior experience developing, communicating, and implementing policies, protocols, and programs, including educational programs for direct care staff
- Knowledge of OSHA, Department of Health, CDC, and CMS regulations and guidance as related to infection control
- The ability to proactively identify needs and recommend and/or implement actions to address needs
- Exceptional organization abilities; strong communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy with work
- The ability and willingness to provide training and guidance to staff in a supportive manner
- Effective computing skills: the ability to access web sites and use web-based applications; the ability to work efficiently in Excel, Word, and with databases
