Breuckelen Athletic is a start-up strength and conditioning gym based the Gowanus/Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, NY. Our mission is to build meaningful relationships with our clients & members, focus on life and mental well-being through fitness, and teach our members and clients to love the process. We aren’t interested in social likes, before or after pictures, or advocating for trendy fixes.
We’re looking for people who fundamentally believe in health and wellness for the long-term, and that success for every client is unique to them and not simply a number change. Holistic improvements, self perception and behavior changes are just as important in people getting what they need out of a coach and gym.
WHO WE NEED:
We are looking for full-time people dedicated to growing with us and in turn we’ll be dedicated to you and your development as a team member and person. This team member will be vital to the growth of Breuckelen Athletic and we're looking for someone that can take ownership, problem solve and provide best in class customer service. This role combines the best parts of ensuring all of our members have a frictionless experience, the day to day operations are smooth and ensure we're providing a high standard facility to our members. At Breuckelen Athletic everyone cleans and contributes to the success of our gym, we want employees that are willing to wear many hats and don’t have a “not my job” attitude. This is an opportunity for someone organized, problem solver and someone that likes to own their work to grow with us as we move forward into an exciting future. We're open to all availability but strong preference to someone with availability in the later mornings through evenings and weekend availability.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Greet every member and guest with enthusiasm and a smile
- Walk through potential members around the club with the goal of signing up the person for a membership
- Answer all inquiries in a professional and energetic manner
- Execute all opening/closing operational procedures to ensure the club runs smoothly
- Actively participate in ensuring the club is spotless including frequent bending, lifting, and walking around the club to organize equipment and straighten up
- Sign members up for startup sessions with our coaches
- Support business duties including email inquiries and potentially supporting marketing and comms (social media, email, website etc)
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Enthusiastic, energetic, friendly and personable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to lift and move gym equipment weighing 15-20 lbs frequently and 45 lbs occasionally
- Able to remain in a stationary position at the front desk for the majority of the workday
- World class customer service skills
- Works hard, multi-tasks and is a problem solver
- Passion for the Breuckelen Athletic Brand
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant area, that can allow you to grow with BA is preferred but not required
- Experience in hospitality, operations and/or digital marketing is a good to have but not required
