Location: Beachside/Cocoa Beach
Salary: $16.37 to $18.01 hourly (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
Work Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and 4 hours during the week as needed.

Job Overview:
Brevard County’s Office of Tourism is seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Tourism Information Support Specialist who can work independently to serve as a key point of contact for travelers exploring Florida’s Space Coast. This part-time role focuses on providing exceptional customer service, sharing detailed knowledge about local attractions, and ensuring visitors have a memorable experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visitor Assistance:
- Greet and engage visitors at designated information centers, providing personalized recommendations for attractions, activities, dining, and accommodations.
- Answer inquiries via phone, email, and in person, offering accurate and up-to-date information about the region.
- Distribute maps, brochures, and other tourism materials.
- Promotion of Local Attractions:
- Actively promote events, cultural sites, outdoor activities, and other unique offerings in Brevard County.
- Conduct business outreach to expand VIC resources when necessary.
- Stay informed about current and upcoming attractions, including space launches, festivals, and seasonal activities.
- Administrative Support:
- Open and close the center according to established procedures.
- Maintain and restock promotional materials in the information center.
- Collect and report visitor data, feedback, and suggestions to improve services.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for visitors.
Requirements:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of Brevard County and its attractions, including beaches, nature preserves, and space-related landmarks.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including email, Microsoft Office
- Customer service experience, preferably in hospitality, tourism, or a related field.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience in tourism, marketing, or public relations.
- Familiarity with social media or online tools for visitor engagement.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
