$14.66 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Merritt Island/Mather's Bridge. Work schedule is Thursday and Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Performs unskilled service work in the operation and minor maintenance of County drawbridges.
REQUIREMENTS: No formal education or experience is required. Experience in the operation of bridges is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must successfully pass, within thirty (30) days of employment, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) bridge operation test. Must successfully pass, within twelve (12) months of employment, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) bridge operation test. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
