$17.05 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications Central Area/Cocoa. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and may include evenings, Saturdays and holidays. Performs entry-level office and clerical work in receiving, recording, screening, and dispatching messages via radio and telephone. Work involves maintaining contact with drivers through a radio dispatch system.
REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) months of clerical experience. Radio dispatching experience and knowledge of local geography is preferred. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted one for the other on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must fill out and sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character and must be able to successfully complete a criminal and personal background investigation conducted by Brevard County and/or another agency. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed. This position is safety sensitive as defined by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Testing regulations.
