Saturn Elementary in Cocoa is seeking a compassionate and reliable Instructional Assistant - ESE (Exceptional Student Education) to assist certified personnel in achieving instructional goals through active participation in curricular activities and supervision of students with special needs.
This position may require before/after school bus duty with assigned student(s).

STARTING SALARY
Based on classification and pay plan for Classified employees:
Grade 18 $16.68 p/h (HS Diploma and ParaPro min score 464 or 60 hrs college credit in core curriculum)
Grade 19 $17.06 p/h (AA / AS or higher)
Qualifications/Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required
- Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education or successful completion of the ParaPro test with a score of 464 or higher
- Experience working with children
- Valid Florida Driver License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to work effectively with teachers, parents and children. Ability to operate or learn to operate a variety of school-related equipment. Assist in planning and implementing instructional activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
