What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Veterinary Assistant position at Brevard Spay-Neuter Clinic?
We are looking for a Surgical Veterinary Assistant to add to our team to perform a variety of tasks including monitoring all patients for surgery and recovery, drawing up drugs, transferring animals to and from surgery, cleaning up after surgery patients. Our work week is Mondays through Thursdays: 8am - 6:00 pm. We average 30 surgeries per day but perform as many as 50 on some days.
We need a surgical veterinary assistant that is not only motivated, but who understands and supports the importance of spay and neutering not only for the pet's health, but as a means of keeping dogs and cats from entering the county impoundments and animal shelters.
Candidate must be mature, reliable, able to work with the public and other nonprofit groups and their members and volunteers in a professional and helpful manner at all times.
We are looking for a team player that is able to work well with co-workers even at stressful times as this is vital to our success.
*Pay starts at $13 for the first 90 days and goes up based on experience/performance.
