Brevard Zoo is home to more than 900 animals representing 195 species from all over the world. As a not-for-profit organization, it is a leader in the fields of animal wellness, education, and conservation.

Position: Treetop Trek guide

Status: Part-time

Department: Aerial adventures

Reports to: Director of operations

Overview: This position oversees course participants taking part in Treetop Trek Aerial Adventures. Guides ensure that participants observe all safety requirements while on the course.

Responsibilities:

Provide orientation for guests and guide them through various challenge courses while providing a safe, enjoyable, and engaging experience

• Daily inspection of the course and all necessary safety equipment

• Address equipment and visitor concerns

• Contribute to strategic departmental planning

• Sound judgment of weather and course conditions

Qualifications:

• Must attain Certification in basic first aid, CPR and AED

• Basic knowledge of correct safety regulations and rescue techniques

• Must be responsible, reliable, and able to take on a leadership role

• Must be physically able and willing to perform all tasks and work in all weather conditions

• Engage in strenuous activities such as walking, running, climbing, and lifting

• Must be able to work at great heights and be able to successfully complete all challenge courses

• Must be willing to work weekends and special events

• Sound judgment of weather and course condition

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have an interest and/or background in eco-adventure.

** Applicants who have experience in forestry, the amusement park industry, conservation, or advanced medical training will be highly considered.
