Barista (Weekdays & Weekends)

Coffee Barista
Brew’d is now hiring for a barista. This position is for about 21 hrs right now with possibilty of for more come school season. You should be someone with availability to work weekends ( Saturday AND Sunday )the majority of the time. You can always ask for days off. Shifts are typically 7 hours.

We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea, baked goods and food. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, taking orders, preparing and prepping drinks and food. Additionally you will also need to ensure the store is clean and restocked. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should be able to work various shifts. Note: this position’s compensation includes salary and tips. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
• Prepare beverages & food following recipes
• Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the store and work areas clean. Removing trash and recycling.
• Stocking inventory and supplies.
• Bringing boxes up and down stairs.
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Server/Server is helpful but not required.
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Basic math skills
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills
• Quick learner
• Be able to lift boxes
• Walk up and down stairs
• Food area and supplies are downstairs so ability to walk up and downstairs frequently while carrying items
• We prefer employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID
