Position Summary:
Our client is a rapidly growing organization in Greater Orlando, in the luxury hospitality destination space. The Assistant Controller will oversee comprehensive accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and compliance with accounting policies and controls to minimize risk. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role supports other departments, supervises the accounting team, and ensures adherence to established standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage financial operations, including departmental forecasts, monthly financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee daily sales reporting, annual operating budgets, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and USALI standards.
- Supervise, train, and develop the accounting team, including conducting performance reviews and maintaining team efficiency and morale.
- Ensure accurate journal entries, safeguard financial data confidentiality, and support other departments with accounting-related needs.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace
- Perform additional duties and collaborate with management as needed, including attending interdepartmental meetings and responding to operational demands.
What They're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting/finance, with a minimum of 5 years in hospitality, preferably resorts.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (Sage Intacct), payroll systems (UKG), and the uniform system of accounts for the lodging industry.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with resort operations, including golf is ideal
