Senior International Tax Analyst
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior International Tax Analyst to join the tax department of a large, publicly traded organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing international tax compliance and tax provision processes for foreign subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in U.S. federal tax law and international tax regulations, overseeing complex tax calculations, compliance filings, and working with a global team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of U.S. international tax compliance, including quarterly tax estimates, provisions, and adjustments for foreign subsidiaries within a large multinational group.
- Prepare and review key international tax filings, including Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, and others, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current regulations.
- Manage and maintain foreign tax accruals, including reviewing and coordinating foreign statutory tax reporting for subsidiaries.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
- Work with the finance and accounting teams to prepare and maintain tax-related journal entries and tax depreciation records.
- Participate in tax audits, preparing responses to IRS inquiries and providing necessary supporting documentation.
- Assist in improving tax compliance processes and software tools, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in tax filings and reporting.
- Stay informed on international tax legislative changes and assess their impact on the company’s tax position.
Qualifications/Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA or CPA-eligible candidates are preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in international tax, with a focus on U.S. corporate tax compliance and provision for multinational corporations.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax forms related to international operations (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, and 1118) and tax provision systems such as OneSource, CorpTax, or similar tools.
- In-depth understanding of U.S. GAAP tax accounting for controlled foreign corporations (CFCs).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Prior experience mentoring or guiding junior staff is a plus.
