What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager International Tax position at Brewer Morris?
COMPLIANCE
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the review of all international tax aspects of the international tax compliance filings including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1120F, and 1118, as well as related disclosures and filings.
- Support the review of all domestic tax aspects of the U.S. Consolidated Income Tax Returns and Partnership tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1065, and related disclosures and filings.
- Support review of, and advise U.S. Tax Compliance Director on, international elements of U.S. tax return, especially as it relates to implemented tax planning, acquisition integration and dispositions.
- Has leadership role in U.S. Tax group; will have decision-making responsibility when delegated and as directed by the U.S. Tax Compliance Director.
- Foster environment of continuous improvement to streamline information gathering and return preparation/review process.
- Manage and complete tax related compliance projects; manage joint compliance/strategy projects.
- Collaborate with respect to income tax planning functions to properly document, account for and report tax implications of completed transactions, implemented strategies and tax positions taken.
- Support US income tax examinations and related responses / information gathering, along with assisting the group in non-US tax audits where required.
- Assist in research, modelling and reporting of domestic and international tax impacts of transactions, including disclosures.
- Assist U.S. Tax Compliance Director in monitoring and review of global tax projections.
- Service oriented towards the Company’s other departments (legal, treasury, financial reporting etc.) to ensure timely and accurate reporting (develop a working relationship with these key stakeholders for tax department)
- Research and analyze the latest developments in international tax law; document, communicate, and implement impact of possible law changes on Company.
- Train, mentor and develop members of the Tax Department and encourage a collaborative team environment; contribute to the technical training of staff.
- Supports tax-related SOX compliance, contributing to the review and approval of the SOX process and review of the completeness and accuracy of specific tax-related controls.
- Supports the reporting of Group deferred tax assets/liabilities, net operating losses and cash tax numbers as per quarterly financial statements.
- Supports the documentation and tracking of uncertain tax positions.
- Supports the preparation and review of income tax provisions for entities operating in the U.S., including training of those assisting with provision preparation.
- Stays current on tax accounting rules and developments (US GAAP and IFRS). Anticipates and prepares for changes.
- Ensures various group scorecards and project management lists remain current and actioned.
- Maintains and improves strong working relationship with external auditors
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following:
- BA/BS in Accounting required, graduate tax/accounting degree preferred
- CPA highly preferred
- Proven international tax experience
- Forward thinking with a continuous improvement mindset
- Must have strong tax research and written/verbal communication skills
- Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Must demonstrate sound, accurate judgment
- Must be extremely thorough and detail oriented
Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
