What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hazardous Material Handler position at Brewer Science?
Summary : Hazardous Materials Handlers and Specialists are responsible for staging products and materials for Brewer Science’s internal customers, coordinating inventory functions, and processing inbound materials.
Responsibilities :
- Move materials to designated buildings and end users upon request.
- Utilize ICS system for effective communication of movement of materials within BSI.
- Assist in physically removing expired or scrap materials.
- Ensure that the product is staged in compliance with safety standards.
- Champion communication for material movement. Responsible for keeping customer contact via email, phone, and the inter-company shipping request system.
- Control and account for material to minimize damage or loss, including but not limited to movement and cycle counting.
- Assist and contribute to continuous improvement in all aspects of the inventory management process.
- Assure that established procedures are used to maintain the integrity of the Oracle system.
- Responsible for assisting in the organization of chemical stores, central stores, and freezers.
- Must administer and comply with dock security training and assure transportation security on behalf of the company adhering to FAA security regulations.
- Assist in the verification of identifying information, counts, weights, and measures of inbound shipments to verify against purchase orders.
- Ensure safe operation of material handling equipment including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts, drum haulers, lifting equipment, carts, totes, and vehicles.
