WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Private Event Manager will focus on driving taproom sales and business development and overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of private events. The Private Event Manager must be committed to continuously striving and delivering an outstanding guest experience and have a strong passion for culinary excellence.
Reports to: Taproom General Manager
- Solicit and promote guest traffic (business development) through advertising, cold calling, contacting past clients, building relationships with local businesses, and other cost-effective marketing strategies to drive taproom sales and event bookings.
- Including networking outside of taproom, attending events, and monitoring other local event offerings.
- Set and achieve monthly, quarterly, annual sales goals aligned with taproom sales budget.
- Use Tripleseat Event Management software to monitor, track, and manage all private event inquiries and bookings.
- Also responsible for the use of Toast, SharePoint, and other taproom technologies as needed.
- Primary point of contact for clients interested in hosting private events.
- The Private Event Manager is required to be on site for all Buyouts unless absence is approved by Area Operations Manager
- For all Large Scale events the Private Event Manager or a trained Private Event Captain must be on site
- Inspect event space prior to the start of each function - room set up, menu, service staff, etc. conforms to BEO
- Greeting clients before each function starts and being present throughout the event to assist where needed. Continually observing, directing, and assisting staff and management team.
- Use Tripleseat Event Management software to prepare and complete all necessary event documentation and billing and prepare and secure signed contracts.
- Responsible for negotiation of final pricing and ensuring that payment is made in full after completion of all events unless otherwise arranged.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements, offering suggestions and guidance to create memorable experiences.
- Respond to all client leads within 24 hours of receipt, using Tripleseat for all lead communication/documentation of lead communication.
- Responsible for all events and sales data; monitor and track all event bookings and business development activities, convert, and track private event inquiries, maintain updated private event guides, menus, and other client facing documentation.
- Maintain detailed price sheet of all billable items and services (approved by GM and AOM)
- Active participation in weekly manager meetings, reviewing at a minimum the following information:
- Upcoming event bookings; review BEO, scheduling, menu, and other event requirements
- Provide the Taproom management team with copies of relevant event documents.
- Engage with clients prior to the start of each event, during taproom site walks, and at all other available opportunities to build relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
- Train staff on event execution standards, following ABV (Artisanal Brewing Ventures) Steps of Service.
- Based on workload and location, the Private Event Manager may be asked to assist with shift execution, administrative duties, and other assignments based on General Manager needs.

WHO WERE LOOKING FOR
- This position requires working onsite at the Taproom with some certain duties performed offsite as needed for events.
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 2-3 years minimum requirement in private event management, marketing, hospitality, sales, or promotion
- Experience with Office365, Private Event Technologies, and POS (point of sale) Technologies preferred but not required
- Selected candidate will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background and driver's license check
- Adherence to safety policies and procedures of the worksite
- You must be at least 21 years of age
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
