Chief Operating Officer

Key Responsibilities/Duties

Oversees operations of the resident services, dining, staff development and environmental functions including regulatory, licensure and certification standards compliance, and standards of operational efficiency.

Serves as a member of the executive management team and participates in group decision-making concerning the overall operation of the organization.  Actively participate in the planning process including the long-range plan and the annual business plan.

Represents Brewster and participates in top level meetings with the governing board, foundation board and board finance committee.  Represents Brewster to civic groups, vendors, governmental agencies and the general public.

Maintains professional competence and keeps abreast of changes and trends in the retirement living and long-term care fields through attendance and participation in continuing education programs and industry conferences.  Shares knowledge to assist with development of staff and board members.

Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organizational vision and operations strategy. Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.

Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary.

Build and maintain trusting relationships with residents, staff and vendors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
• Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
• Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
